Objective

What is Objective?
An Objective is the "O" in OKR — a clearly defined, qualitative goal that articulates what you want to accomplish. Good Objectives are ambitious, actionable, and time-bound. They answer the question "What do I want to achieve?" and provide direction and motivation.
Effective Objectives share several characteristics: they are concise (ideally one sentence), inspiring enough to drive action, and concrete enough that everyone understands what success looks like. They should be ambitious but not impossible — pushing you beyond your comfort zone while remaining within the realm of achievability.
Examples of well-written Objectives include "Become the most trusted platform in our industry," "Expand into enterprise market," or "Build a world-class engineering culture." Notice that none of these contain numbers — that's the job of Key Results. The Objective sets the direction; the Key Results measure the distance traveled.
