Frequently Asked Questions

What does OKR stand for?

OKR stands for Objectives and Key Results. It is a goal-setting framework where Objectives define what you want to achieve and Key Results define how you measure whether you're getting there.

How many key results should each objective have?

Each objective should have 2-5 key results. Fewer than 2 may not capture the full scope of the objective, while more than 5 dilutes focus. Together, the key results should comprehensively define what success looks like for the objective.

What is the difference between a committed and aspirational OKR?

Committed OKRs are goals you expect to achieve at 100% — they are your baseline promises. Aspirational OKRs (also called moonshots) are intentionally ambitious where achieving 60-70% is considered success. A good balance is about 70% committed and 30% aspirational.
